Federal State Educational Budget Institution of Higher Education “Volgograd State Physical Education Academy” is Federal State Educational Budget Institution of Higher Education which realize higher educational and postgraduate vocational education programs and also additional professional education in directions and specialties according to the higher educational establishment’s (HEE) licenses.
The Volgograd State Physical Education Academy founded in 1960 (in accordance with decision of Council of Ministers of the RSFSR №1870 dated 28 November 1959) was reorganized from the Volgograd State Physical Education Institute and was its legal successor (according to the order №143 of State Physical Education and Tourism Committee of the Russian Federation dated 6 May 1996 on the basis of the order №604 of State Higher Education Committee of the Russian Federation dated 8 April 1996).
The Volgograd State Physical Education Academy was renamed in State Educational Institution of Higher Professional Education “Volgograd State Physical Education Academy” on the basis of State Accreditation Certificate №0203 dated 2 April 2001 and the Volgograd State Physical Education Academy’s order №39 dated 13 March 2003.
State Educational Institution of Higher Professional Education “Volgograd State Physical Education Academy” was renamed in Federal State Educational Institution of Higher Professional Education “Volgograd State Physical Education Academy” by the order of Federal Agency for Physical Education and sport №109 dated 29 March 2005.
For the purposes of legal status argument of Federal Institutions in compliance with the Federal law №83-FL dated 8 May 2010 “On Introducing Amendments to Certain Legislative Acts of the Russian Federation in connection with improvement of legal status of state (municipal) institutions” the HEE was renamed in Federal State Educational Budget Institution of Higher Professional Education “Volgograd State Physical Education Academy”.
The Russian-language full official name of the HEE is Федеральное государственное образовательное учреждение высшего образования «Волгоградская государственная академия физической культуры». The Russian-language abbreviated official name of the HEE is ФГБОУ ВО «ВГАФК».
The English-language full official name of the HEE is Federal State Educational Budget Institution of Higher Professional Education “Volgograd State Physical Education Academy”. The English-language abbreviated official name of the HEE is FSEBI HPE “VSPEA”.

– additional realized professional education programmes (advanced qualification courses, staff retraining courses, professional probation).
The education according to the additional programme is only fee-paying (RUS).
